Originally from Dutch descent, the Both family settled in Germany. The Dutch are known for mastering distillation in early days and as the inventors Genever, the godfather of Gin. In 1886 the Both Distillery was founded, by the brothers Anton & Peter Both, in the beautiful historic town of Ahrweiler. Made using an authentic recipe from that era, Both Old Tom Gin comes from a long and illustrious tradition of Gin making. Old Tom Gin, a sweeter style of Gin, is considered to be something of a holy grail within the Gin category.
